    Met Mile Thriller

This year’s Met Mile (Metropolitan Handicap) was an absolute thriller. It came down to the wire and Silver Train won in a photo finish. Silver Bullet stayed just off the pace for most of the race and then took charge as the front-runners tired. Sun King challenged as well and made it very interesting, but Silver Train won by a head. Jockey Edgar Prado, who was the jockey of Barbaro, had to feel great. Both Silver Train and Sun King had bumped starts.

Mass Media was a pace setter inside and tired late to give up the lead. Mass Media finished in third.

Silver Train paid 6.60 to Win, 3.50 to Place and 2.90 to Show.

Sun King paid 6.30 to Place and 4.80 to Show.

Mass Media paid 5 flat to Show.

The 4-2 Exacta paid $48.40 and the 4-2-1 Trifecta paid $194.

    Time of Race: 22.78, :44.84, 1:08.90, 1:34.27

Also Rans: Bandini, Wilko, Sir Greeley and New York Hero.
