Preakness Stakes Winner

As predicted, my selection, Bernardini ran away from the field and won the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course. He went off at a whopping 12-1. I felt the selection was fairly easy to spot. On a sad note, Barbaro pulled up lame and was taken away in the equine ambulance. Before the race he broke through the gate. It’s unclear if this had anything to do with his injury since it was his hind leg that was hurt.

Either way, it was Bernardini’s day. He ran the race with authority and not even Barbaro could have stopped him from winning. I also make some extra money by taking advantage of match up betting. I got Bernardini at -115 against Like Now. As expected, Like Now started out fast and then tired.

Update: I just heard that Barbaro has two fractures in his hind leg. It may be life threatening if he damaged the blood supply. Let’s all pray that he makes it out ok.

Bernardini paid $27.70 to win, $9.40 to place and $5.80 to show. His owner is the ruler of Dubai. Congratulations to Bernardini, I knew you could do it.
